Poshan Vatika Maha Abhiyan

ICAR – Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Kilnelli organized A campaign on nutria-garden and tree planting programme under Poshan Vatika Maha Abhiyan at KVK premises involving farmers, Rural Youth , Adolescence girls and Anganwadi workers

This programme was inaugurated by Mr. V.Suresh, Senior Scientist and head i/c, During his inaugural address, he spoke on roles and responsibilities of farmers for food sustainability in the district.

• Mrs.P.Meenambigai CDPO – ICDS given special address on recommended diet for adolescence girls
• Mrs. T.Margaret SMS Home Science delivered lecture on role of bio fortified vegetables and nutria-garden for balanced diets for farmers and farm women.
• Dr. K. Mayakrishnan SMS Animal Science gave lecture on “Importance of fish products for better nutrition
• Miss. M. Ishwarya delivered lecture on millets for healthy diet

As a part of this event seven plants were distributed to each participants and also IFFCO sponsored nutri-vegetable seed kits were distributed to adolescence girls. In remembrance of International Year of millets 2023 millet based food competition was conducted among participants prize distribution and certificate distribution done for the them.

A total number of 183 farmers, Rural Youth, Adolescence girls and Anganwadi workers from Cheyyar, Vandavasi and Vembakkam block of Thiruvannamalai district had participated in the event.
