The Tamil Nadu Board of Rural Development (TNBRD) conducted an important tree planting event at Kilinelli on August 21, 2024. This initiative was led by Mr. S. Ramesh, the President of TNBRD, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Kanchi Infinity and the Indo-American College of Arts, aimed at raising awareness about climate change and its significance.
The event commenced with a warm welcome by Mr. V. Suresh, Senior Scientist and Head of the KVK Thiruvannamalai. The President of the Rotary Club of Kanchi Infinity, Gnanasekaran, presided over the proceedings. The special guest, Parvathy Seenuvasan, President of the Thiruvannamalai District Panchayat Committee, inaugurated the tree planting ceremony and delivered an inspiring address.
A total of 2,800 tree saplings were planted on both sides of Vembakkam Road, with the involvement of Dr. Malathi, Assistant Professor at Indo-American College of Arts, Mr. Karthikeyan, Programme Coordinator of the National Service Scheme and members of the Rotary Association, alongside 72 farmers, youth, and students. Mr. P. Narayanan, a technical expert from KVK, conveyed his appreciation to all participants for their contributions to the initiative.
